This survey is part of the education and research project “School Lunch 2050” on climate change, food systems, and the imagination of futures. It is run by the FEAST Project, based in Kyoto, Japan. The current global food system contributes largely to problems such as climate change and biodiversity loss, but also to health issues and questions of injustice. At the same time these problems in return also affect the food that we can eat. The global debate is no longer about if we need changes, but how the necessary drastic changes can be made possible globally, among countries, and within societies.
