Thank you so much for considering joining and/or supporting our new initiative, "Alternative Futures Research Hub" (AFRH) at UON. This Hub has been created in partnership with the New Economy Network Australia (NENA) as part of the execution of the MOU signed by the two parties. Answering the following questions will help us develop a better understanding of our capacities and the prospects of the Hub, by mapping our own interests, views, expectations and levels of commitment to this project. Your answers will also help develop the Hub's website.

a) Create a ‘Knowledge Commons of Alternatives’ through exploring, mapping, comparing, examining and integrating alternative modes of livelihood, governance, and sociability that transcend capitalist relations and dependence on carbon, commodities, and (unsustainable) growth;

b) Identify, explore, develop and promote collaborative research projects focused on building new socio-ecological and economic systems or modalities in Australia;

c) Actively seek financial and in-kind supports required to implement the activities of collaboration including linkage/joint research projects;

d) Co-host events including research-oriented conferences, symposia and training workshops;

e) Coordinate and promote collaborative research and facilitate its publication to ensure that the Research Hub contributes to the development of the knowledge commons, supports social projects, and informs actions that transform Australian society;

f) Create an open and collaborative platform for mutual learning and sharing experiences among the academics and practitioners involved in the projects.

LEVEL 1- Organizing regular events (quarterly meetings; webinars; invited public lectures/Masterclasses/Seminar presentations relevant to the objective and themes of the Hub; Workshops, etc.)

LEVEL 2 - Individual researchers collaborating with NENA through the Hub and bringing their relevant project under the umbrella of the Hub to seek feedback and help from each other and to create a suitable research environment for stronger external grant applications

LEVEL 3 - Pilot and bigger projects shared by some members of the network (in accordance with the objectives of the MOU i.e. co-creating a Knowledge Commons out of mapping, network analyses integrated with existing relevant qualitative case studies) and co-authoring publications out of the shared activities/studies; all to pave the way for bigger external grants (ARC Linkages or Category 2 or 3 grants)
