2023-24 Teacher Request Form
(One form per student)
Parents wishing to make a request for their child for the upcoming year must make the request in writing to the principal by submitting this completed form. Please understand that it is not possible to honor all requests. Parents are cautioned not to request placement or non-placement based upon what they may have heard about staff. Just as each child is unique, so is each teacher. An experience that one parent may have had with their child may be totally different from what your child could have with the same teacher. Given other circumstances and teacher recommendations, it is not always possible to honor all requests. If you are making requests for more than one child, you must complete and submit a separate form for each.
Requests for a child not to be placed with another child, for whatever reason, can be noted on this form as well.
Only requests submitted by the first Friday in May (per policy), which is May 5th this year, will be considered.
All parent requests received by the deadline will be strongly considered, however, the final placement decision is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: academic, social, and behavioral needs, total class size, male/female ratio, specialized class schedules (gifted and special education), and heterogeneous grouping.
The final decision on all student placement rests with the principal after due consideration of staff recommendations for class lists and parent requests.
