PURPOSE:
The livable Missoula action forum is an effort to confront climate change locally and move Missoula towards 100% clean energy as rapidly and equitably as possible.
We will build on the collective visions community members came up with in a couple of community dialogues for what we want our community to look like in 2035, the values that we want to guide us, and collective actions that can help us get there. At the action forum, participants from both dialogues will come back together, along with new folks who want to join, to workshop the action ideas we came up with, break into action teams, and plan next steps to start moving forward.
WHO SHOULD COME: We’re looking for residents of Missoula county who are interested in helping shape a vision for a path to 100% renewable energy and making sure that path is equitable and affordable, whether that’s through attending one event, sharing what you're already working on, or becoming a new leader in a longer-term organizing effort.
If you haven’t been part of community events, conversations, or planning processes related to renewable energy and addressing climate change, you are especially welcome! We’re hoping to bring together a diverse group of Missoulians who can speak to the opportunities and challenges for making an equitable transition possible and work towards meeting them.
