This policy and its related administrative guidelines and the Student Code of Conduct govern students' use of the Academy's computers, laptops, tablets, personal communication devices (as defined by Policy 5136), network, and Internet connection and online educational services ("Education Technology" or "Ed-Tech").

1. Primary Use on a PC and/or network should be in support of education and research and consistent with the mission of Woodland Park Academy.

2. Hate mail, harassment, discriminatory remarks, cyberbullying, and other antisocial behaviors are prohibited.

3. Use of the PC, network, or peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) to access pornographic material, inappropriate text files, or files dangerous to the integrity of the local area network is prohibited.  

4. Students are responsible for appropriate behavior on the Academy's computer/network and the Internet just as they are in classrooms, school hallways, and other school premises and school-sponsored events.

5. Any use of the network/technology for commercial or for-profit purposes is prohibited.

6.  Any use of the network/technology for personal and private business is prohibited.

7. All equipment and software shall remain the property of the District.

8. The Borrower and his/her Parent or Guardian accepts responsibility of the equipment while it is in the Borrower's possession.  The Borrower agrees to use an appropriate method of transporting the equipment and also agrees to keep the equipment secure at all times.

9. By the signatures below, the Borrower and his/her Parent or Guardian indicate intent to use this equipment for purposes of facilitation of the educational program of the District.  The undersigned agree that this property will be treated with care, with the understanding that the Parent or Guardian will be FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH DAMAGE, LOSS OR THEFT.

10.  I certify that I have read and accept my responsibility related to the loan of this equipment.  I agree to adhere to the guidelines and policies.  I understand that I personally am responsible for this equipment and may not loan it to a third party.  I assume responsibility for all risk of loss or damage to the equipment and acknowledge that there is a $250.00 replacement fee.
