Encore's 5th Birthday Party Concert – New Cast Member Audition Application
This form is for people who have never performed with Encore before, or have only performed as part of Stage School.

Ensure you have read all information on the website as well as all the information below before completing this form.

Applications must be submitted by MARCH 2ND.

Why do I need to audition?
We have a number of young people interested in being part of an Encore production and cannot take everyone who applies. Attending auditions helps us get to know you and see you alongside other performers your age.

What is an audition workshop?
We call our auditions workshops because we teach you all the material. They are structured like a class where we will teach you an excerpt of dialogue, a song, and some choreography to perform individually and/or in small groups.

Do I have to prepare anything for the audition?
No, everything will be taught to you during the workshop where you will then have the opportunity to perform either on your on or in a small group. You can choose whether or not you perform on your own, however, we encourage everyone to do so.

How many people will be in my audition workshop?
Aside from the Encore tutors, you will audition with others your age. The exact number will depend on how many applications we have, but we expect about 20 auditionees in each group. 

When and where are the audition workshops?
The audition workshops are at Remuera Primary School on Saturday 9th March – there is an option for morning or afternoon audition. Workshops are approximately 40 minutes, with younger performers towards the beginning of the session, and older performers towards the end of the session. 
Morning Session: 9:30am-12:30pm
Afternoon Session: 1:30pm-5pm
You will be asked if you have a preference for either session – we ask that you keep the duration of your selected session time free until receiving your 40-minute time slot.

When will I know if my audition was successful?
By the 23rd of March.

SCHEDULE:

Below is the approximate schedule, although we anticipate the final schedule to be very similar.
Saturday:
12pm-2pm: Year 4, 5, 6
1pm-3pm: Year 7, 8, 9, 10
3:30-4:30pm: Additional Numbers (Solos, Dance Troupe etc.)
4:30pm-6:30pm: Year 11+
Tuesday/Thursday:
6:30pm-9pm: Additional Numbers (Solos, Dance Troupe etc.)

Some cast members will be selected by the Encore Team to perform additional numbers – these people must be available for the Saturday slot and weeknight rehearsals each week.
It is important to note that whilst general cast members will only be required on Saturdays, they should be available to attend weeknight rehearsals from the 11th of June if scheduled. 

If you are unable to attend a Tuesday or Thursday rehearsal, please let us know in the space provided on the form.
