The Art Effect Workforce Application: Spring 2022

The Art Effect is now accepting applications for the Spring 2022 sessions of its two workforce development programs, Spark Studios and MADLab (Media / Art / Design Lab). These workforce programs are arts-based career and skills training experiences.

Spark Studios is the intermediate-level filmmaking and videography branch of The Art Effect hiring youth producers interested in developing their film production and professional skills. Spark Studios runs Tuesday through Thursday, 3:00pm-5:30pm, beginning Tuesday February 8th and ending Thursday April 7th. Youth who successfully complete the program earn a stipend of $150.

MADLab is the intermediate-level visual arts and design program at The Art Effect hiring youth artists looking to take their talents to the next level. MADLab runs Monday through Wednesday 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm, beginning Monday February 7th and ending Wednesday April 6th. Youth who successfully complete the program earn a stipend of $150.

Spark Studios: Spark Studios Youth Producers will learn the ropes of a fully functioning film set while learning workplace skills, receiving training in camera operation and filmmaking techniques, and gaining experience with production software, technology, and the Adobe Creative Suite. For this position, a positive attitude, creativity, and an ability to work in a diverse team is required. Successful applicants will earn a stipend upon completion of the program.

MADLAB: MADLab Youth Artists will learn to be creative entrepreneurs by creating multiple mixed-media projects (both personal and client-based), document personal and professional growth through the creation of portfolios, design and create original sculptures and public art installations, and assist in informing community members, partners, and organizations about public art initiatives through public speaking and presentations.
