 Celebrating our Chicano Heroes!
Tuesday April 28th, 2020
5:30pm-8:00pm
World Theater @ CSUMB

As a part of CSUMB's 25th Anniversary, the College of Health Sciences and Human Services is hosting an additional event in the Diversity Celebration Series lineup! For our last event of the season, we are honored to welcome Eduardo Chávez and Dr. José Angel Gutiérrez to the World Theater to celebrate our Chicano heroes.

Dr. Gutiérrez is one of the founding members of La Raza Unida political party and is considered one of the Four Horsemen of the Chicano Movement in the 1960's and 70's. His new book, titled "The Eagle Has Eyes" dives into declassified FBI files surrounding César Chávez and the Chicano Movement.

Eduardo Chávez, the grandson of César Chávez, sought to learn more about his heritage and family by creating a documentary of his grandfather's life. Eduardo will be screening his 60-minute film, "Hailing César", followed by a Q&A session.

Light refreshments will be provided, all are welcome!
