Call for Submissions
Teen girl writers are encouraged to submit fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for an upcoming book showcasing the voices of teenage girls. Writers are invited to submit fiction (short stories and flash fiction), nonfiction (personal essays and memoir), and poetry on any theme that is 1,000 words or less. They may submit up to three original pieces. Writers must be female or gender-expansive high school students in New Jersey during the 2022-2023 school year. The writing for publication in the book will be selected by the Her Words Editorial Collective. The book will be published in August 2022 by Her Words Press. The submission deadline is midnight (EST) on June 30, 2022.

I acknowledge that my submission is an original work by me and has not have been published previously nor is in the public domain. I understand that if my work is selected for publication I will receive two complimentary copies of the book and that all proceeds from the sale of the book will support Her Words’ free programs for teenage girls in Morristown, New Jersey. *
