2024 Advocacy Fellow Application

Maine Students Vote is seeking a highly motivated college student to join our Youth Advocacy Team this March. The selected Fellow will be hired to work alongside LWVME’s advocacy teams and youth leaders to track bills, organize grassroots educational campaigns, and advocate for selected issues. This program is nonpartisan and structured to allow Fellows to explore government, democracy, and changemaking.

Fellows will receive training on relational organizing, grassroots lobbying, civic leadership, and voter engagement strategies. While opportunities to gain experience in lobbying are an aspect of this position, these opportunities will not exceed eight hours a month. Opportunities will exist to partner with the Fellow’s campus to bring election and voter information to the wider campus community.

This position is part-time for 10 hours per week at $15.00/hr and will run through May with the opportunity to continue into the fall semester. This position is remote with the opportunity to travel to Augusta for work at the State House.

Priority will be given to BIPOC students who are interested in pursuing a career in government, policy, or politics. Students must live in Maine to qualify for a position.

Apply by 11:59pm on February 18th, 2024.
