SAMN February Virtual Social Hour
We’re bringing back our popular social hour event for the new year!
This time around the Southeastern Archaeology Mentoring Network (SAMN), Student Affairs Committee (SAC), and the SEAC Executive Board are co-sponsoring the event and we hope to expand the participation in future regular social hours.
We would like to invite you to the next virtual Zoom-organized social gathering Friday, February 5th from 6:30-8:00 EDT. This event is open to all: SEAC members, researchers working in the Southeast, any interested professionals, and of course furry friends are welcome to steal the show!
Registration is not required but can be helpful for planning. Feel free to share the Zoom link with any you think might be interested as new faces are welcome.
Like last time we will begin the virtual gathering in a main Zoom room, then randomly sort participants into smaller breakout rooms. We’ll kick off conversation this time around with some conversational prompts, but we still encourage members to introduce themselves, catch up with people you probably haven't seen in a while, and socialize over friendly conversation. We ideally see this as an opportunity to meet new people engaged in Southeastern archaeology and as a networking opportunity for students and early career archaeologists.
Guidelines: Keep it light, and keep it friendly. Incorporate all members in the group to the conversations. This is a social hour, you may choose to engage in consumption of beverage(s) of your choice but please be respectful and courteous at all times. Please abide by local laws on alcohol consumption. SEAC does not condone excessive drinking or illegal consumption of alcoholic beverages.
We look forward to seeing you all again soon!
