Terms and Conditions for the Members of Open Academic Research Council and Open Academic Research UK CIC
The Board of Directors of Open Academic Research Council and Open Academic Research UK CIC are committed to OAR's future. We seek your precious support to continue to be a successful nonprofit research organisation. The OAR members need to agree with some rules and regulations in order to be an OAR member.  The rules and regulations listed here are updated on the last Board Meeting held on 11 April 2020 at OAR's corporate office in Kolkata, India.

All OAR members are required to agree to these terms and conditions. Following are the terms and conditions which are unanimously agreed by the Board of Directors:

Academic integrity
OAR Group is a multinational group, which consists of Section 8, Community Interest Company and Private Limited Companies build upon a strong academic integrity. OAR will scrutinize academic qualifications prior to awarding a membership.

OAR is a research Company which encourages academic collaborations among various different fields. We encourage  collaborations out of your comfort zones, hence, we would like to see new research collaborations time to time. Solo research contributions are acceptable as well but needs to be high in quality.  

Associate Members must have at least one research contributions per year. Research contributions are continuous research on a topic or topics which are outside your regular university research. In special cases, this condition can be waived where a Board of Directors acceptance is required. Every three months, OAR would like to receive an update on your research for OAR's website.

OAR members are all lettered crowd, you are obliged to respect academic qualifications. You are free to question at any instances about your academic doubts to whom it may be related to directly in front of him/her. Raising issues behind other person and creating preferential subgroups are not acceptable.
Probation period
Probation period is three months. Membership can be revoked during the probation period if your performance is not satisfactory. After the probation period if OAR observes continuous absence of your intellectual contributions for three months, OAR will hold a board meeting to discuss whether your membership can be retained.
Communications
Messaging to an individual to inform OAR related agendas is not encouraged. You should always write to OAR WhatsApp group or email us at info@openacademicresearch.org to communicate any general concerns related to OAR.
Meetings
1. You must join at least six meetings in a year.
2. It is alright if you cannot join any of the meetings but you please inform us at OAR WhatsApp group or email us at info@openacademicresearch.org.
Contributions
The categorical responsibilities of the members must be strictly followed. The guidelines for the members with their duties are as follows. Please discuss with the MD of OAR about your appropriate designation, and sign it accordingly.

Election and nomination
1. OAR election will take place annually for different posts.
2. You must nominate one prospective OAR member per year.
Non-discriminatory ground
OAR do not support discrimination against any issues, be it age, gender, sexual orientation, caste, religion, race, ethnicity, dressing attire, economic background, academic qualifications, and anything under the sun which creates segregation and violent movement in our society.
General non-disclosure ground
1. The Members shall
(i) use reasonable efforts to maintain the confidentiality of the information and materials, whether oral, written or in any form whatsoever, of the other that may be reasonably understood, from legends, the nature of such information itself and/or the circumstances of such information’s disclosure, to be confidential and/or proprietary thereto or to third parties to which either of them owes a duty of nondisclosure (collectively, “Confidential Information”);
(ii) take reasonable action in connection therewith, including without limitation at least the action that each takes to protect the
confidentiality of its comparable proprietary assets;
(iii) to the extent within their respective possession and/or control, upon termination of this Agreement for any reason, immediately return to the provider thereof all Confidential Information not licensed or authorized to be used or enjoyed after termination or expiration hereof, and
(iv) with respect to any person to which disclosure is contemplated, require such person to execute an agreement providing for the treatment of Confidential Information set forth in clauses (i) through (iii). The foregoing shall not require separate written agreements with employees and agents already subject to written agreements substantially conforming to the requirements of this Section nor with legal counsel, certified public accountants, or other professional advisers under a professional
obligation to maintain the confidences of clients.

2. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the obligation of a person to protect the confidentiality of any information or materials shall terminate as to any information or materials which:
(i) are, or become, public knowledge through no act or failure to act of such person;
(ii) are publicly disclosed by the proprietor thereof;
(iii) are lawfully obtained without obligations of confidentiality by such person from a third party after reasonable inquiry regarding the authority of such third party to possess and divulge the
same;
(iv) are independently developed by such person from sources or through persons that such person can demonstrate had no access to Confidential Information; or
(v) are lawfully known by such person at the time of disclosure other than by reason of discussions with or disclosures by the Members
Membership fees
An annual membership fee is applicable for the administrative overheads to maintain and facilitate the services offered by OAR. The services are customised from member to member but a flat rate fee in applied for all members. Members are required to pay an annual membership fees on the date of joining.

Associate membership fee is 149 GBP.
Fellow membership fee is 199 GBP.

Once this form is submitted after review you will receive the payment details to pay the membership fees.
