Drop In The Bucket is a grassroots composting program through Butte Environmental Council.

Households can sign up to receive a 5-gal bucket for food scraps that is collected weekly and taken to compost at a community garden.

The main drop off location is Oak Way Community Garden on 8th & Nord Ave.

BEC is also looking for volunteers to help with pick ups to keep this program going!

This is a donation-based, pay what you can service.

Responsibilities *

I will put my bucket in a easily visible and accessible place during the pick up time period

I will clean my bucket myself and keep it from smelling or attracting pests

If I do not need a pickup I will notify BEC ahead of time

I will only put compostable food waste in my bucket (no meat, dairy, plastic, or hazardous waste)

I understand that BEC can refuse to pick up my bucket anytime if not following the guidelines

All donations will go to Butte Environmental Council
