The 2022 summer outdoor soccer season is quickly coming to a close. Based on requests from some families involved in Wingham Minor Soccer (WMS), the WMS Executive is asking for your input on the possibility of offering a higher level (rep/try-out/select) of soccer in our area. One possibility we are exploring is creating tournament teams of players from the North Huron area. On top of their house-league team responsibilities, they would practice together and then join a few indoor and outdoor tournaments in early 2023 and then some outdoor tournaments over the course of the 2023 outdoor season. In order to join one of these teams, a player would be required to attend 3-4 try-outs and receive an invitation from the coaching staff to join that particular team. The WMS Executive can also appreciate that rep/select soccer is not for everyone.  Please note we are still very much committed to continuing to offer house-league level soccer at every age category.

Some additional information to help families respond:

Cost: Depends on number of tournaments entered, hotel costs, and tournament fees.  To give families a ball-park figure, we expect the registration fee to be approx $100/player.  All other fees would be added at a later date.

Tryouts: Held throughout month of Sept and locations will be TBD, but will likely be held somewhere in the North Huron area (Wingham, Clinton, Goderich)

Practices: Sept-Early November (weather permitted) and early April - August 1-2 outdoor practices per month; Dec-early April: 1-2 indoor practices per month
