Administrator’s identity
The goals and methods of personal data processing at the University
are specified by the Administrator, i.e. Wrocław University of Science
and Technology based in Wrocław, 27 Wybrzeże Stanisława Wyspiańskiego
St., represented by the Rector.

administrator’s office.
Contact data of the Data Protection Officer
The Administrator appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who can
be contacted via e-mail: IOD@pwr.edu.pl. You can contact DPO regarding
any matters related to personal data protection and exercising the
rights related to data processing.
Purposes of data processing and legal basis
Your personal data will be processed by the administrator for the following purposes:
- to prepare, organize, and run the language improvement courses,
prepare and archive course documentation and reports, and also to
collect overdue payments – using instruments and procedures based on
general binding regulations (applying to state universities, at the
right degree and form of education) – pursuant to Art. 6.1.letter.b (or
c, as appropriate) RODO;
- to prepare, organize, and conduct the ACERT language examination,
prepare reports and archive the documentation and also collect overdue
payments – using instruments and procedures based on general binding
regulations (applying to state universities, at the appropriate degree
and form of education) – pursuant to Art. 6.1.letter.b (or letter c, as
appropriate) RODO;
- to contact you (including private addresses) so as to provide
information, administrator’s decisions and ordinances, present the
administrator’s offer related to your status, i.e. when it is necessary
to execute legitimate interests of the administrator (Art. 6.1. letter f
RODO).
Recipients or categories of personal data
Your personal data may be transferred to such entities as: other
universities and institutes cooperating with the administrator, entities
cooperating with the University and also public administration bodies
(especially the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) and other
institutions cooperating in the performance of public tasks. The data
may also be included in publicly available lists of competition
laureates and participants, and also presented in academic society fora
when the publication of results and an assessment process is necessary.
In the case of overdue payments, your data shall be transferred to debt collection agencies.
The university processes personal data using information systems,
databases, equipment and software. These tools are managed by suitable
institutions and companies providing technical and IT support for the
university. The administrator enters into agreements with them and
entrusts them with task of data processing and appropriately
simultaneously committing them to confidentiality and data protection.
Data retention period
The data will be retained for as long as it is necessary to keep them
for the purpose of pursuing the above listed goals, that is:
with regards to personal data protection arising from agreements with various entities – for the duration of the agreement;
with
regards to personal data protection based on the administrator’s legal
obligations – for the period specified in the binding regulations for
that time;
with regards to correspondence and the presentation of
administrator’s offer – until the time you lodge possible objections or
voice reservations in relation to such personal data processing;
with
regards to situations when the only premise justifying your personal
data processing is your consent – until this consent is withdrawn
(however, this will not influence the data processing prior to the
withdrawal).
Data subjects’ rights
You have the right to access information and correct it. You can also
exercise your right to erase or restrict the processing and transfer
data, lodge objection and withdraw consent if it is the only premise
justifying your personal data processing by the administrator. However,
consent withdrawal shall not affect the lawfulness of processing by the
administrator before the withdrawal.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint to a supervisory authority
involved in personal data protection in the Member State of your
habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. In the
Republic of Poland it is the President of the Personal Data Protection
Office, whose office is located at the following address: Stawki 2,

Information on the voluntary basis or obligation to submit personal data
Your personal data submission is necessary to run language
improvement courses, organise ACERT examination sessions and also
maintain contacts and carry on correspondence with you (including
electronic correspondence).
