Puppy Application (Summer 2024)
Hello! I invite you to apply for one of our precious puppies.  This is a small and carefully matched pairing  of two delightful Golden Retrievers with exceptional temperament, excellent genetics, and high trainability.

My wish is to have a long relationship with you, serving as a trusted resource for you as you raise your pup.

I have gone above and beyond what is typically provided from a breeder because these pups are special and I want to make sure you have the best of everything right from the start.   

You will receive the following from me:
  • New puppy folder with instructions for feeding, sleeping, crate training, potty training, etc. 
  • Complete Embark DNA testing results for your puppy. Your puppy's report will include breed-relevant genetic health risk screening, screening results of 250 health conditions, and predicted adult weight.
  • AKC registration and records for your puppy with lifetime registration already paid in full. AKC will mail you a frameable AKC Registration Certificate and your dog’s name recorded in the AKC Registry.
  • AKC registration allows you to participate in AKC events, including agility, obedience, tracking, field  trials, dog shows, junior showmanship, and many others.
  • Digital access to your dog's pedigree through AKC through 6 generations. 
  • Health guarantee and medical records of your pup's visits from Dr. Miller Animal Hospital, which include regular well-checks, vaccinations, and deworming.
  • Microchip already implanted with lifetime registration already paid in full.
  • Boomerang Promise:  Should you find yourself needing to rehome, return, or part with your puppy within its first year, I promise to pay you $500 upon its safe return to us, no questions asked. I am proud to be the only breeder in North Carolina offering this unique assurance.

If you are interested in one of these pups, you must fill out an application first. Not everyone who fills out an application can receive one of our puppies.  

This is not a reservation.  Do not send a deposit.  

After screening, I'll send an email letting you know whether or not you're advancing to our waitlist.  Please note that this process may take 1-2 weeks. Check your spam if you don't see it! If it's been 2 weeks and you haven't heard from me, please let me know ASAP. Cookderosa@gmail.com 

Once you're on the waitlist, you may choose to reserve your puppy by making a deposit of $500 by cash, cashier's check, Zelle, or Venmo.  Your deposit is part of the total puppy price and is fully refundable for 48 hours. I will try to honor puppy gender requests - there is a spot on this application to mark your preference.  Gender will be honored on a first-come-first-served basis but is not guaranteed since what we get is up to mother nature.  The best way to ensure your pick of the litter is to make your deposit in a timely manner. Picking order is based on deposit order.

Once you have been approved and we have received your deposit, I will begin a relationship with you by email and by phone.  We will schedule a phone call to go over lots of important information, allow you to ask questions, and help you get ready for your new puppy.   I will have spent hundreds of hours loving, nurturing, socializing, engaging, temperment testing, and pre-training your puppy before you ever meet him/her.   Since I spend 24/7 with the puppies, I have a good understanding of each pup's specific personalities and traits. As long as you fill out your application honestly,  you'll be matched to the best puppy for your family and lifestyle.  

In-person previews:  If you like, you may schedule an in-person preview your puppy in my home at approximately 6-7 weeks old.  2 adults are invited to visit and share an hour of quiet bonding time with the puppy.  Previews are available after their vaccinations and health clearance from Dr. Miller, so there can be no early-exception to this rule as it could compromise the health of the entire litter. (I will send loads of photos and videos to help you pass the time while you wait to meet your little one!)  

Pick up window: Your pick up day will be scheduled during the 8th week. I encourage the entire family to attend pick up day! Currently, the expected pick-up window is probably August 29- September 2, but the actual dates to be determined once the puppies are born.  In the event that you are unable to pick you puppy up during the pick up period, we can arrange paid boarding for up to 2 additional weeks. 

Your puppy must be paid for, in full, no less than 24 hours before your pick up day. Final balance may be made by cash, cashier's check, Zelle, or Venmo.
