Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As the school year comes to a close, the Got Lunch! Rumney program will begin its eighth year of providing groceries to families to help bridge the nutritional gap over the summer break when meals are not being provided by the school.
This community collaboration began in the summer of 2014 with the goal of providing healthy food to those children who are eligible for free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch at school, but it is NOT necessary for participation. If you need help affording groceries this summer, this program is here for you.
Got Lunch! Rumney receives all its funding from grants and donations. It is run by community volunteers and supported by local businesses and other groups including churches, Russell Elementary and the Cooperative Extension Service.
During its term of operation (dates to be determined), on Monday mornings a week’s worth of healthy lunch foods will be delivered to your home. Items include bread, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, chicken, cheese sticks, fruit, granola bars and more. With every bag of groceries you will also receive vouchers for fresh vegetables at Longview Farm and for milk at the Rumney Village Store.
If you are interested in participating please fill out the form below. Once registered. you will receive a note of confirmation. (Each year we require a new registration form for participation.)
REGISTRATIONS for the summer of 2021 are DUE BY MAY 26th.
