Who is 'ACA'?
It is important for ACA to tell our story, to define and celebrate who we are in our community. Defining our brand is a part of our story. Staff, families, and students are uncovering ACA and reflecting on the ACA brand in the process.  The information we gather on this survey will help us in future discussions and plans. ACA has had multiple logos, colors and mottos over the years--choose the one you think reflects us best OR CREATE a new one. We will be voting and finalizing ACA's official- and future-colors, logo and motto in future surveys.  In 2022 we will have a 'REVEALING our brand EVENT' for all parents, students, and staff. Please take time to reflect and answer each question.  Thank you for taking time to fill out this survey, so we can affirm ACA's brand!

ACA Staff surveys revealed descriptive words they feel describe ACA. Choose ONE, TWO or THREE  words you agree with or write up to three of your own descriptive words.
Now that you have brainstormed some characteristics of ACA, here is some history of our school name, logo, and motto.
The Learner-Centered School is our original school name and the name of our overarching non-profit. We changed our first school (TLCS) to Antioch Charter Academy in 2003 and in 2008 we opened our sister school Antioch Charter Academy II.  The Learner Centered School logo and motto are on our website.
Antioch Charter Academy II adopted a new logo and new motto their first year.
In the early years, TLCS/ACA had many cougar designs, many fonts, and students chose both the 'cougar' plus 'blue and silver' as our school colors. Navy blue and yellow were introduced to ACA as alternative colors in 2009. ACA staff, students, and families never voted on an official ACA school motto. We'd like to formalize ACA's motto, ACA's font, ACA's colors, and ACA's cougar and YOU will help us make those decisions!
We have used two mottos over the years at ACA. What is our current ACA's motto? *
Write the motto that best reflects ACA. Choose from the two above or make up a new one that best reflects and represents our school and our school community (parents, staff, and students). *

ACA's Logo was created by staff, students and families in year two. The first logo had a two circles, with a triangle overlap.  Inside the circle was TLCS. The two circles represented the school philosophies surrounding the school structures, with the student in the center.  Circles (i.e. Knights of the Round table) represent mutual respect and equal voice. The triangle was chosen to represent strength (it's the strongest shape) and the three sides of success for students  1. students (one side) 2. families (one side) and 3. staff (one side). All three coming together to create an educational experience that benefit students. After changing the school name to Antioch Charter Academy (students initiated this change), we added 'Antioch Charter Academy' to the first logo.

Later on, the logo was changed to one oval (instead of two circles) for aesthetics. The current logo has one oval, one triangle, and can be found in black and white, blue and yellow, and multicolored.
