Overview
Pain and stiffness are commonly experienced in the shoulder region due to postural and repetitive strains. Yin Yoga can help to improve mobility in the shoulders, chest and upper back by stressing the soft tissues appropriately. This workshop aims to explore the anatomy of the shoulder region so that students are empowered to approach their practice of yoga safely and effectively.
What will students learn
* overview of the shoulder joint anatomy

* how range of motion is determined by individual bone shape and orientation

* how to practise yoga safely by understanding where the shoulder is at risk of injury

* common conditions affecting the shoulder joints

* 60 min guided Yin Yoga practice on shoulder and chest opening
About the Trainer
Bryan Ng is an Osteopathic physician experienced in the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal pain and injuries. He is also a certified yoga instructor (YA E-RYT 200) having trained with A.G. Mohan and Sarah Powers. He runs his own private practice, The PainFree Clinic, at Novena Medical Center.
