The Lackawanna & Luzerne County Medical Societies have been committed to representing physicians for more than 150 years. We are a professional membership organization for physicians who live or work in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties. Our goal is to provide a common ground for physicians across a range of specialties to discuss health care issues of the day and work for the good of the profession and the public.
In our effort to serve the public and create healthier communities -- we have teamed up with the creative forces at Scranton Fringe to launch a new podcast, centered on telling TRUE stories about REAL challenges facing our communities. Mental health, physical challenges and social narratives will be at the heart of our new podcast.
We are now seeking applications for SEASON 3 of the podcast, which will center on the theme of CELEBRATION!
Each episode will also include interviews with the selected storytellers and the Lackawanna & Luzerne Medical Society executive director / podcast producer, Tonyehn Verkitus.
HOW WILL STORIES BE RECORDED?
Our tech wizard and audio engineer, Dan Kimbrough (Park Multimedia) will work with each and every selected storyteller to record their experiences remotely. All storytellers simply need to have access to strong WIFI and a quiet space to record with us (schedules pending). Safety and comfort for each storyteller will be our top priority.
CAN I BE A STORYTELLER?
Yes! To bring our vision to life, we will need (at least) to select five to ten stories. We are seeking as many unique experiences from as many diverse lives as possible. All we ask is that your story be true, first hand and related to our core theme for season three (3) celebration!
DO I HAVE TO LIVE / WORK IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA?
No! We are 100% open to anyone from across the globe submitting for this exciting new project.
I’VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE
That's OKAY. We will work with you (remotely) to prep and coach you before and during your recording session to help you craft the best narrative for your story. This will be a welcoming and stress free process!
