The Inclusive Pedagogy Workshops will focus on advancing Inclusive Excellence in the classroom, emphasizing content, delivery, course and program learning objectives, and other mechanisms for how we teach.

The workshop objective is to share best practices that advance inclusive pedagogy.  All faculty and staff are invited to share their experiences about what works (and what doesn’t work!) for teaching with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind. Joint submissions and proposed panels are welcome.

Some sample topics include:
-Cultivating an inclusive climate and strategies in anti-racist teaching
-Overcoming barriers (class size, space requirements, cultural familiarity, etc.)
-Managing difficult conversations and holding all community members accountable
-Avoiding over-taxation and minimizing harm
-Advancing an inclusive classroom in unexpected courses or disciplines
-Course policies and procedures that support inclusivity
-Best practices for mentoring and supervising students
-Utilizing course content to advance an inclusive classroom;
-Deploying inclusive assessment instruments;
-Moving beyond deficit frameworks: asset-based depictions of groups/communities
