Electronic / Technology Usage Contract for Writing Courses

A student may not use a laptop in our Writing Course until this contract has been electronically signed by the student and their parent / guardian.  The electronic signing of this contract means that student and parent / guardian both understand that this agreement is the student’s responsibility to uphold and represents the first three Consequences for Misbehavior.  If any of the rules or procedures below are not followed by the student, then Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia will initiate the following Consequences for Misbehavior for the student:      C1:  First infraction = a letter and a phone call home     C2:  Second infraction = a Discipline Referral which goes directly to principal     C3:  Third infraction, or more serious infraction = loss of laptop use.          These rules come as one comprehensive agreement.  If a student breaks one rule, they have not followed this contract.  So even if their second infraction is a different piece of this contract, Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia will proceed to # C2 above. *
Here are the computer rules and procedures that all Writing Course students must follow.  These are directed at the individual student who will be electronically signing this contract:  So, first, please realize that every keystroke is surveilled.  Therefore, if you type something, even if you erase it or do not see it pop up on your screen, our surveillance equipment will recognize it and you may be disciplined.  We of course will be able to discern between an accidental typo and a deliberate set of keystrokes. *
You may only be on the website or program that the teacher instructs you to use while you are attending your Writing Course. *
Due to privacy concerns, concerns with copyright, and intellectual property issues, recordings (audio, video, still pictures, or a combination thereof) by a student of any Glassboro Intermediate School event where Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia is present is strictly prohibited without the prior written or electronic consent from Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia. *
Covert / secret recording (audio, video, still pictures, or a combination thereof) by a student of any Glassboro Intermediate School event where Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia is present is strictly prohibited without the prior written or electronic consent from Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia. *
Any recording (audio, video, still pictures, or a combination thereof) by a student of any Glassboro Intermediate School event where Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia is present, which is transferred / downloaded / uploaded / electronically sent to an electronic device, to the Internet, or to any public or social media is strictly prohibited without the prior written or electronic consent from Mrs Meehan or Ms Ceglia. *
Any violation to these rules may lead to a major disciplinary action. *
PLEASE NOTE:  Classes will be audio- and video-recorded by Mrs Meehan and Ms Ceglia for educational use only.  Signing this agreement is giving electronic consent from the parent / legal guardian of each class participant to Mrs Meehan and Ms Ceglia. *
