RSVP for MeMoSa: The Life of One Thousand-Year Olive Tree

Student Artist-in-Residence Yejia Sun presents: The Life of One Thousand-Year Olive Tree

Sunday, April 21st | 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Location: Movement Lab, Barnard College (Milstein LL020)

The Life of One Thousand-Year Olive Tree
Our project is an interdisciplinary performance piece that focuses on the stories of a thousand-year-old Olive Trees (and their lives with Palestinians). With deep cultural, economic and social significance, olive trees stand as the symbols of Palestinian identity, echoing the resilience and rootedness of a people intimately connected to their land.

Through our performance, we aim to weave together various artistic mediums, from music and interactivity to visual elements, to encapsulate the multifaceted essence of Palestinian experiences. Our narrative threads will honor the stories, struggles, and lives of the Palestinian people, intricately interwoven with the enduring presence of Olive Trees. Ultimately, we want to amplify the voices that have long been marginalized, offering a platform for their stories to resonate and endure.

Doors open at 7:30 PM and MeMoSa begins at 8:00 PM
