Volleyball Tryouts Interest (April 2021)
Interest for Crossroads Sports (Colonial Crowns) Competitive Teams at The Shepherd's Church (Colonial Baptist Church). Season runs May - October 2021. Once this form is filled out, you will receive a link to officially register for Tryouts. Tryout fee is $60 which guarantees tryout attendance through April 20. If necessary, cuts could be made beginning April 20. A separate form must be filled out for each athlete. Athletes must be NC registered homeschoolers to participate. VB Tryouts are Tues/Thur afternoons 12:30 - 4:30, April 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 (grass nets), 27, 29. Athletes could be asked to come anytime between 12:30 - 4:30 based how we decide to group players. It is to the athlete's advantage to attend all dates, especially the first 5 as cuts could begin April 20. List tryout conflicts as specifically as possible (classes, times, etc...), *
Thursday, April 22 will be 30 min parent/player meetings to discuss the season schedule in detail & expectations for each team level. At least 1 parent per player must attend. These will be scheduled between 12:30 - 5:30 pm. List PARENT & PLAYER conflicts: *
MAY Team Practices will be Tues/Thurs afternoons, approx 2 hrs between 12:30 - 6:30 pm depending on team, with potential Mon & Fri additional/alternative afternoons. List all known May conflicts (classes & dates they end, vacations, work, etc): *
JUNE-JULY Team Practices are TBD based on gym & outdoor court availability. NOTE: Varsity/JV Gold WILL have required summer practices 2-3 times per week. JV-B/Middle School/Boys will practice 1-2 times per week. Could be AM or PM Mon - Fri. We understand there will be conflicts such as family vacations, camps, etc. When in town, volleyball practice is should be a priority. List all known/planned summer conflicts (vacations, camps, work): *
AUGUST - OCTOBER Team Practices will be 1 - 3 times per week, depending on level of team and game schedule. Practices could be Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri afternoons between 12:30 - 5:30pm. List conflicts in August, including fall classes/start dates/times/locations. Be as specific as possible: *
MANDATORY GAME DAY TRAINING: Monday, August 9th (approx 5:00 - 8:30 PM) is Parent OFF COURT training for matches (1 parent per family - both parents if sharing responsibilities) Tuesday, August 10th  (approx 5:00 - 8:30 PM) is the Parent ON COURT training and Player "practice match" requiring all teams & 1 parent per family to participate. List conflicts (understanding conflicts could affect your athlete making a team / playing time): *
Tournament dates: Sat, Aug 7 or 14 (local all day tourney for Varsity, JV teams), Sat, Sept 11 or 18 (local all day tourney for Middle School teams), Sept 30-Oct 2 (3 day - hotel stay required - National Tournament in Gatlinburg, TN for Varsity, JV teams, & Boys; Middle School teams likely/will discuss), Oct 15-16 (ALL teams will attend NCHEAC State Tourney in Greensboro - 2 day tourney, hotel not required) LIST all known conflicts: *
