Learning from Finland: Best Practices for Teaching and Learning (Registration)   2022-2023
This 8 week, self-paced, online Moodle course is intended for those who are interested in studying how teachers can impact their instructional effectiveness.

Course description:  This 2-credit course is designed to develop participants’ knowledge of the Finnish model of education. We will study the teaching philosophy and practices of Nordic educators that result in students performing as world leaders on national assessment measures in core areas of reading, mathematics, and science.

This course is the equivalent to 30 classroom hours (30 OPI renewal units), which is the equivalent of 2 university credits. This is a self-paced course, but do not expect to complete it in one sitting! Course participants must be comfortable working independently and be self-motivated to complete all work within the flexible time frame. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T REGISTER FOR MORE THAN TWO COURSES AT ONE TIME.
