PreAdoption Questionnaire
Thank you for showing an interest in adopting a dog from Paw Help UK rescue.   Adopting a dog is a big commitment, but if you know you are ready and have the space and time required to look after an animal, it's a noble way to add a pet to your family.

Applying for adoption you shoud be prepared to love the dog for the rest of its natural life. The very name ‘rescue’ dog is a little misleading. It suggest the dog needed to be’ saved’ or that the new owner is doing the dog a great favour.

Well yes, the dog will be forever grateful for being given a happy, safe and stable home life but please, don’t consider rescuing a dog as something to try out.

These dogs need and deserve longterm stability and a home for life. If you are in any doubt at all that you can provide that, you may be better suited to offering your help to the rescue as a foster before you commit to giving the dog the life they deserve.

Due to the high volume of applications and inquiries, and the fact that our rescue is run by volunteers, we want to inform you that while we carefully review each application, we may not be able to respond individually to every submission due to limited resources. We kindly ask you to check your email inbox, including spam/junk folders, for any correspondence from us. If you have not heard back from us within a week, please consider your application unsuccessful for the specific dog you applied for.

However, please note that being unsuccessful for one dog does not mean you will be unsuccessful for another. Each dog has unique needs, and we match them to homes accordingly. If you find another dog you are interested in, please feel free to contact us again. You do not need to complete a new form each time unless your circumstances have changed.

CHILDREN POLICY: We do not discriminate applicants based on ages of children. We rehome our dogs with children but the dog must be the right size and temperament to be homed with too young children. If you have young kids it may take longer to find your perfect match, but we are dedicated to doing so.

Please complete the form below. The questions in this application are in place to provide Paw Help with the best information possible so that we can match dogs with their forever homes. Information such as previous pets allows us to understand your experience with animals, thus helping us find an animal that will best suit your lifestyle and experience.

APPLY RESPONSIBLY
Adopting any animal is an enormous responsibility and entails a change in lifestyle. Adopting a rescue animal is something that must be given serious consideration. PLEASE APPLY RESPONSIBLY

ADOPTION FEE:

PAYMENT IN TWO PARTS:

2)  ON A DAY OF DOG ARRIVAL OR A DAY BEFORE : £400 per ONE dog

*in some cases under individual agreement with adopter we can consider adoption fee payment in parts within the  2 months following adoption. Also in some exceptional cases adoption fee can be reduced.

** Some dogs are available under our Foster-to-Adopt . This means that the dog can go to a family with serious intentions to adopt for a trial period before paying the full adoption fee. A non-refundable deposit of £150 is required in any case as proof of serious intent to adopt. During the trial period, which lasts up to two weeks, the family can decide if the dog is a good fit for their household. At the end of the two weeks, the family must inform us if they wish to adopt the dog. If they decide to adopt, they must pay the remaining adoption fee. The dog is considered adopted only after the full adoption fee is paid. If, for any reason, the dog does not suit the family or the family does not inform us or complete the adoption process, the dog will be put back up for adoption and rehomed to another family.

IF I WOULD NEED TO RETURN THE DOG, WILL I GET ANYTHING BACK?

Yes, in case the dog needs to be returned by the adopter for any reason within a year after adoption, a refund of £400 is available. However, this refund is contingent upon the adopter agreeing to keep the dog until it is rehomed, which can take a few weeks (it depends and sometimes takes even 6-8 weeks). If the owner is unable to wait until the dog finds a new home, maximum £300 of the adoption fee can be refunded .Detailed information regarding this policy will be provided in the Adoption Agreement, which is signed with successful candidates.

HOW ADOPTION FEE IS USED?

The adoption fee for our dogs serves several important purposes. Firstly, it helps cover the cost of medical care for the animal before they are adopted, while they are in our care, and especially for UK resident surrendered dogs, who often come in very poor health condition and require extensive medical attention (such as dental care, vaccinations, spaying or neutering, surgeries, etc.).

Also the adoption fee helps cover the cost of transportation, international travel documents, dirrefent dutes associated with dogs international travel. Additionally, for each adopted dog, we donate £50 to our overseas partners to support their spaying/neutering campaign.

Adoption fee does not cover all the rescue costs. Our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, so your fee directly supports the care of our rescue animals and helps us continue our mission of saving and rehoming pets in need, both British and oversears. Thank you for considering adoption and for your support.
