Queer/ Crip Ecologies Workshop
What is a queer or crip ecology? Is it any different from a straight ecology? How do our diverse identities impact the ways we practice science? How do we deal with pollution, toxicity, and destruction in nature without rejecting the parts of ourselves that are polluted, toxic, broken, or damaged? The Grow Garden will be holding a queer/crip ecology workshop to work through some of these questions and more. The program will use insights from queer theory and disability studies to critically question our ecological practices. The workshop will include a group discussion, guided activities, volunteering, and the opportunity for anyone to share art (poetry, songs, performance, feelings, etc) inspired by the garden and nature more generally. The event will take place on May 4th at 5pm at the garden (H and 24th st). There is no sign up necessary yet your answers to the questions below will greatly help us design this and future programs. We hope to see you all there!
