CLASP STEM 2024
We are pleased to offer a third year of CLASP STEM! We are recruiting for new members and plan to have a number of second and third year participants adding further depth and insight to the experience of this  year's cohort.

If you are interested in applying to join us in our 2024 year-long STEM learning community aimed at building your confidence and effectiveness in sharing STEM learning opportunities with the young people in your out-of-school time program while expanding your professional network then this may be the opportunity for you!   

Please fill out the information below no later than 12 pm Wednesday, January 24.  We will contact you no later than 5pm on  Wednesday, January 24 to let you know if you have been accepted participate this year.  The first meeting will be on Thursday, January 25 10am-12pm.

Who are we looking for?
We definitely encourage you to apply if you fall into one of these categories:
1. Dedicated after school program educators that work with youth directly.  The staff responsible for daily interactions, planning program activities who may be struggling with the best ways to lead STEM activities, are not native to STEM education and could use some support in getting started.
Staff with greater comfort with STEM that are interested in actively working more collaboratively with the generalist educators in your programming to provide greater support and understanding and full curriculum support of STEM and SEL related content when possible.
2. After school professionals who are interested in developing sustainable STEM programming within their out of school time programs.

Requirements
Applicants must be willing to make a 1 year commitment to participate in this program from January to December 2024 and the willingness to actively share and collaborate with this community of program participants in both a virtual and in person format. Please see dates in image below to see which date we are asking you to commit to.

Expect to spend some time outside of of our regular meetings and working on activities to share in your program and a summer project that will involve supporting/leading STEM learning in your program and will require participation in a final presentation for your colleagues in the OST field.

Applicants must be interested in and have the opportunity to actively participate in applying the STEM and SEL practices being shared in each CLASP session.
I am currently and actively employed in a Connecticut-based out-of-school time program and am able, allowed to and or expected to develop activities to use with the youth in my program.
