RPG GameMaster Agreement

THIS IS NOT A CONTRACT, but an agreement between Meeple Movers and ___________________________________________ (hereafter GameMaster) to provide Role-Playing Game Services at Meeple Movers Board Game Cafe or another designated location as the parties agree. For the purposes of this agreement, it is understood that the GameMaster is an independent contractor and shall be responsible for their own tax withholding and reporting. All contractors will be issued tax reporting forms as required by local, state and federal government.

The purpose of the agreement is to set the expectations for each party. This is not a binding contract, and either party may discontinue the agreement at any time with the understanding that neither party will allow harm to the other or the gaming community through their decision to terminate the agreement. In other words, if a party decides to terminate, any already-paid/scheduled gaming sessions will be completed for the good of the customer and the reputations of the parties. Meeple Movers is working to build a thriving and vibrant role-playing community in the cafe. To that end, we are looking for GameMasters that can accommodate diverse groups to achieve a cooperative story that all enjoy. Meeple Movers will not determine the role-playing system or campaign that the GameMaster decides to run. We highly encourage all role-players to read Consent in Gaming by Monte Cook. This is the baseline for our content rules and a great reminder that all questionable content should always be OPT-IN rather than OPT-OUT.

The GameMaster is responsible for providing a synopsis of the campaign/game to Meeple Movers prior to scheduling sessions (we need a week to review before the session will be posted for signups). GameMaster is responsible for declaring to the players any content warnings prior to beginning role-play and obtaining written consent forms from the players. Forms are provided by Meeple Movers. Because we are a family-venue, under no circumstances will the GameMaster allow content that contains any sexual content (inferred or direct). Additionally, profanity within the game and at the table should be kept to a minimum. GameMasters are expected to control their table.

Sessions that do not get the minimum number of signups 3 days before will be canceled.
