We are so happy you are interested in taking on a leadership role with Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa!  Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We value the dignity and humanity of all people and are dedicated to being an inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible organization.

In spring 2023, we celebrated the milestone of serving our 10,000th girl in eastern Iowa since our founding in 2007. As with all nonprofits, we are continuing to rebuild from the impacts of COIVD-19 on our organization and working to identify how we can be both nimble in meeting those needs, while also ensuring long-term sustainability.  To help us do this, we are actively recruiting individuals to serve at both the board and committee levels of the organization to help in three main objectives: 1. to re-align internal operations to ensure sustainability. 2. to address key barriers to program participation and inclusion and 3. to broaden our connection to the community especially outside of Johnson county. 

Because we serve girls from a wide variety of life experience and backgrounds, it is important to us that our volunteer leadership reflects our whole community, therefore we are seeking representation from all parts of our community. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people 50+ are encouraged to apply.  We are also looking to increase our representation from within the Cedar Rapids/Linn County area, and are actively seeking parents of GOTR-participants/alums.

While we've identified areas of expertise we are look for, there are no specific educational or professional requirements to join.
