Interns represent the future workforce and the future of all companies. An internship is a work experience companies offer to provide individuals with a professional learning experience and knowledge about a particular field. It gives entry-level experience, a chance to explore potential career opportunities, and insight into the working world.

Employer Responsibility

Employer's responsibility is to provide the individual who would function as the intern’s supervisor. This individual would be responsible for assigning the intern’s tasks, monitoring their progress, and evaluating the student’s performance at the end of the internship. (This evaluation would also need to confirm the student’s attendance and hours so that we are assured that the student has worked the required time to earn the appropriate credit hours). The college requires that students put in 45 hours on site for every credit they earn during a semester. Thus, the number of hours a student spends on-site is determined by the type of credit the student is looking for in combination with the number of hours the site organization needs from an intern. Generally, most of our internships are 3-credit courses, meaning the student must work 135 hours over the training. However, scheduling those hours is entirely up to the student and the company.
