Propel Business Lab Application

APPLICATION DEADLINE: DECEMBER 16TH, 2022

Propel Business Lab is a 12 week business accelerator program for emerging entrepreneurs of various experience levels focused on the particular challenges of doing business in the region, developed by the Palmetto Innovation Center in partnership with USC Salkehatchie's Leadership Institute. The program will host business development lessons alongside technology centric workshops with a focus on Barnwell and Allendale businesses with classes hosted at the Palmetto Innovation Center in Barnwell or the Allendale campus of USC Salkehatchie. 

This application process is for the first session hosting a cohort of up to 20 participants at each site in weekly sessions for 3 months (12 weeks). After completing these sessions, participants will have the opportunity to compete in a pitch competition for a grant of up to $10,000 for their business! Each participant will then have 6 months of follow up with one-on-one mentoring structured for the needs of their business. 

Note that, if accepted into the program, there will be a $100 fee for participation due by the first class, which is an all inclusive fee for all 12 weeks of classes and 6 months of mentorship.

The 12 week class program will run from January 10th - March 30. NOTE: These days and times are subject to change, but will remain on weekday evenings to accommodate most participants.

If accepted, you are making a commitment to attend all 12 weekly sessions of the core program coursework with additional 6 months of optional mentorship. You understand, that if accepted, you must participate in all 12 sessions in order to compete in the pitch competition for business funding. Participants in this program can live anywhere within the region (defined as Barnwell, Allendale, Bamberg, Hampton, or Colleton Counties) , but in order to participate in the pitch competition, your business must have measurable impact in Barnwell or Allendale Counties. You also acknowledge that, if accepted, you will pay $100 to participate in the program due by the first class session.
