Call for Challenges
This form is for submitting your ideas for challenges for the Quantum Village Q-CTFv2!

What we want
We want your ideas for challenges. We're but a very small team, and we're keen to engage with the Quantum Hacker community! So if you have an idea for a challenge, then please submit it below and we'll consider them for the CTF.

What we Offer
We're still working out what we can offer but we intend on offering the minimum:
  • Being named in the new Q-CTF Hall of Fame
  • SWAG - t-shirts, stickers, and more as we can make them
  • Discord Honorary Status as 'Q-uizmaster'
  • More as we get funding and ideas!
NOTE WELL
We may not use your challenge 'as is' upon submission. We may blend it into other challenges or as sneaky easter eggs for challengers to find during the Q-CTF.

Hints and Tips
The more unusual and hacker-y the better! Some examples from last year:
  • Creating OpenQASM code that achieves a given circuit in a minimal amount of lines of code (as counted by semicolons)
  • Submitting the names of physicists based on photographs, but the one who was Russian (Kitaev) you had to submit in Cyrillic (because... Russian!)
  • Solving hints that were typed in English on a foreign keyboard
For some examples from last year, take a look at our website: https://quantumvillage.org/CTF.html

Submitter Email
So we can contact you about the challenge.
Submitter Name(s) *
We may not need your email, but we sure as hell want to credit you! So put the handle(s) of the creator(s) of the awesome submission here!
Challenge Name *
The punny-er the better-er...
Challenge Description *
E.g. "Create a circuit that does XYZ" or "Download the linked jupyter notebook and fill in the gaps to create a valid Grover search" - this is what you imagine to be issued to the challengers.
Optimal Solution *
This is the exact optimal solution - don't explain how to check it, that comes next.
FLAG
We can make you a flag, but we're always keen to hear fun ideas for generating flags! They are usually l33t-sp34k3d and put between qv{...} for consistency.

Example formatting for a flat from last year: qv{Sp1n_m3_l1k3_4_m4gn3t1c_m0m3nt}

NB - we almost certainly will not use your exact flag in production! Else, we couldn't let you compete ;-P
Check/Validation Criteria *
If you can, provide a rough to exact outline of how to validate this.

For example, for a Grover's Search at the 5-qubit pre-diffuser stage, we check that all of the values in the state vector were the same size (1/32) and that exactly one was negative, and in the right position. If this was done, then you got the flag for the points.
PoC Available?
Do you have this working? We may email you to request code if we can't make it work ourselves.
Anything Else?
We're always keen to make exciting and unusual things happen at Quantum Village - it's the DEF CON way!! So if there's something you'd like to tell us that doesn't fit into the above boxes, then please include it here. If you are on the Quantum Village discord then put your Discord username here :)

NB - if you can't think of anything, maybe try answering this prompt: "What goes into a cocktail called 'the quantini'?"
