Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how a person communicates and interacts with the world around them. It is a spectrum condition, and each person is affected in different ways.

With a lens directed at seeing the strengths of each child on the autism spectrum, this course lays the foundation for participants to develop a deeper understanding of autism, which allows for individualised support to be provided.

Participants will be exposed to current research on autism, be engaged in learning activities that are designed to help them understand their child or student with autism better and be able to share this information with other professionals or team members. Through this, we  hope to shape the perspectives of persons caring for or interacting with children on the autism spectrum, and in turn be better equipped to support their participation in various learning and social environments.
