National Social Justice Team:                                 Expression of Interest
The CUC's National Social Justice Team has an important role in Canadian UU social justice engagement and works to:
1) expand the CUC's knowledge base on social justice issues;
2) share this knowledge with other UU members;
3) alert CUC staff on areas of national significance where CUC attention might be focused.

Note:  This is not the same as the National Voice Team which writes statements on behalf of the CUC. The National Social Justice Team would support the National Voice Team with information gathering.

We are looking for members who:

1) Have a specific area(s) they are following closely, i.e. affordable housing, climate justice, gender equity, racial justice, etc
2) Are willing and able to share resources, information, campaigns etc on the CUC’s social justice Facebook group once or twice a month
3) Are comfortable using technology and social media
4) Are self-motivated and able to focus on the work independently, as well as engage constructively with a team
5) Are willing to alert the CUC's Social Justice Lead and the rest of the team when there is an issue of national significance that the CUC may want attend to, and share facts with staff in such a way that the CUC Communications and National Voice Team can craft a short statement
6) Possess good writing skills (preferred but not crucial)

A broad range of experience, skills and diversity among members is preferred. The team will meet initially, and then only as needed, once tasks have been divvied up, but remain in contact electronically.
