Virtuosity 2023-2024 Registration
Thank you for your interest in music lessons through the Virtuosity program! Please fill out one form per student.

Private thirty-minute weekly lessons are offered in clarinet, guitar, percussion/drum set, piano, viola, violin, and voice. These lessons are available before, during, and after school. Lesson availability depends upon teacher hours, room availability, and student schedules. Students will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, but individual teachers will have the right to give priority to returning students as long as those students register by or before August 15. Lessons received during school hours will be subject to principal, and in some cases, classroom teacher approval. Secondary students who have chosen Life Prep as an elective may be able to take lessons during this assigned hour if a teacher and lesson room are available. Registrations will be accepted until available slots are filled, and then students will be placed on a waiting list.

Worship band (group) lessons for elementary (5th/6th) and junior high (7th/8th) are available on Wednesdays after school. Positions are limited. These two worship teams will help lead worship for the elementary chapels during the school year.  Keyboardists, guitarists, drummers, and vocalists in 5th-8th grade are welcome to register. The worship team director will select the members of the team, with special consideration to ability and past involvement on the teams, and without obligation to the date/time of registration. If you have any questions, please contact the director, Mrs. Kristy Ross, at kristyross@sca-kc.org.

Once the lesson dates and times are confirmed with the Virtuosity teacher, you will receive the Parental Agreement Contract.  If you have any further questions, please email the Virtuosity Director, Mrs. Joy Parke, directly at jparke@sca-kc.org.

The following are policies and procedures as stated in the Virtuosity Handbook.  Please read each policy carefully.  If you have any questions or need clarification on our policies, feel free to contact Mrs. Parke directly at jparke@sca-kc.org.
Virtuosity lessons begin the first week of September and go until the first week of December. In the Spring Semester, lessons resume the first full school week of January and go until the first week of May.  Families are billed for private lessons on a flat monthly rate of $95 (unless notified otherwise) from September until May.  (There will be approximately 30 lessons over two semesters.) Worship band lessons follow the same lesson schedule, but are billed at a flat monthly rate of $75 (unless notified otherwise) from September until May. *
In the months of December and May, families will be billed for $95 (or $75 for worship band) even though students only receive one week of lessons.  This flat monthly fee also covers the care and maintenance of the pianos as well as the expenses for two recitals, facilities, and administrative support staff.   *
Withdrawal Policy: Should you wish to cancel the Virtuosity lessons, you are required to give a one-month notice to the Virtuosity Director and Teacher.   *
"Be Prepared" Policy: Students are required to bring their music books to their lessons as well as their instrument (for non-piano students). If the student comes to the lesson ill-prepared, the teacher is not required to teach the student, and no make-up lesson will be given.   *
Student-Initiated Absences: Each student is allowed one makeup lesson per semester. All other student-initiated absences will not be made up or refunded. Out of courtesy to your teacher, please be sure to communicate at least 24 hours in advance if your student needs to miss a lesson. Please do not depend on school personnel to communicate your child's absence for you, even during the school day. *
Teacher-Initiated Absences: Teacher-initiated absences will be made up at a mutually agreed upon time. If the teacher is not able to make up the lesson within two weeks, a credit will be issued to the FACTS account. *
School-Initiated absences: School-initiated absences, such as snow days, will be made up within two weeks or credited to your FACTS account. Lessons missed due to school activities, like field trips or special all-school rehearsals, can generally be rescheduled; however, teachers are not required to give makeup lessons under these circumstances.  For best results, please maintain good communication with your Virtuosity teacher.   *
Families who are new to the Virtuosity! program will be required to attend a brief meeting during the last week of August. Several options of meeting times will be provided. The purpose of the meeting will be to review the Parental Agreement form, issue and go over the Virtuosity! handbook, and answer any questions. If families are unable to attend any of the meeting times which are offered, Mrs. Parke will set up an alternate time to meet either in person, by phone, or virtually, to go over this information together.  *
Thank you for taking the time to fill out this form!  We hope to have lessons 100% scheduled by the end of August.  After the lessons are confirmed with the Virtuosity teacher, we will send you the Parental Agreement Contract in order to authorize billing via your FACTS account.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
