A life coach is someone who commits to coming alongside a student to try and help them develop the practical skills needed to function as an independent, giving servant of the Lord. The typical areas of need are budgeting, learning how to get and keep a job, earning a driver’s license, getting insurance, dealing with taxes, and accomplishing the steps to go to college (FAFSA, financial aid, etc.). Life coaches commit 1.5- 2 hours a week to meet with the student and complete necessary steps to work through the issues listed, and others that come up as you get to know the student and their specific situation. This role requires persistence, direction, compassion, encouragement, and perseverance through setbacks. Additionally, it also requires willingness and ability to support the leadership in student ministries and communicate with parents as the need arises. Thank you for your willingness to apply for this important ministry.
