Sussex Sounds on Carfax Bandstand Expression of Interest
Please complete the form below if you're interested in performing 'Sussex Sounds' on the Carfax Bandstand or at West Street as part of Horsham Markets. These events are a joint venture between Food Rocks, Sussex Event Bars, High Gain Event Services and Horsham District Council. 

All slots are based on a one hour set. Carfax hosts two slots, either from 1.30pm - 2.30pm, or 3pm-4pm. West Street slots are 12pm - 1pm. We ask you to arrive 30mins before to set up equipment and do a line check.

When playing on the Carfax Bandstand and West Street we provide a Vocal PA with mics and DI as standard, and offer a fee to include expenses of £60 soloist or £80 for duos / groups for each slot (paid by direct bank transfer, we will ask for details when your slot is confirmed).

Please be aware West Street slots will be offered to solo artists only.

Technical Requirements *
Our house PA is a simple vocal PA with two active speakers, a monitor and 4 vocal / instrument mics and a DI box.  You can connect an AUX cable to play music from your own laptop or device that has a jack output if you wish. Please include any chairs etc needed. 

Note: We provide the PA without sound engineer, control is available via tablet on stage or from the bar (Soundcraft UI Mixer).

Guidelines for performing in Horsham District public spaces *
  • Any amplification shall be kept to a level sufficient to comply with the Council's Good Rule Government Byelaws and the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (as amended) and shall be adjusted in accordance with any requirement of an authorised officer of the Council, police officer or Manager from Horsham Markets.
  • You will be performing within a commercial and residential area, so please be considerate. Noise levels should be kept at a level that still allows the local businesses to continue to trade without disruption.
  • If in the opinion of the nominated Council employee/Manager from Horsham Market the noise level is too high then the performer is expected to comply with the directions of that office.
  • HDC reserve the right to withdraw site permission immediately if any performer is reported to the Council, to be exhibiting ‘Unacceptable Behaviour’. “Unacceptable Behaviour’ includes swearing, spitting, littering, shouting or screaming, using language deemed to be racist, sexist, ageist or in any other way discriminatory, deliberately obstructing or repeatedly pestering individuals, or in any other way be seen to be exhibiting ‘pressure selling’ tactics on passers-by.
  • Where a performer has not complied with the agreed management guidelines they may be prohibited from future performances.
  • Any performer publicly collecting donations for performance is required to have a busking license. Further details can be found here. https://www.horsham.gov.uk/licensing/busker-licence.
