Model Shop Reservation Request 22/23
The Model Shop is booked on a session-by-session basis for rostered courses interested in doing in-class Shop Orientations as well as demonstrations. Note that all shop users must complete a Shop Orientation prior to general access use. Please do not book the Model Shop for activities that could take place in a general-use classroom or studio such as lectures, critiques, or light fabrication.

Faculty must provide a copy of their syllabus as part of the reservation process.
Please email the course syllabus to shops@cca.edu

Prior to requesting specific reservation dates, please review the Model Shop calendar on Portal for the latest availability: https://portal.cca.edu/learning/shops/model-studio/?q=model%20makin

Model Shop Reservation Guidelines:
 - Shop reservations are only available during scheduled course meeting times
 - The course syllabus must be submitted prior to reserving the shop
 - Maximum Instructional Session: 4 hours per week or one class session, whichever is shorter. Faculty may book up to 8 reservations/semester for 3 hour classes, 6 reservations/semester for 6 hour classes
 - Reservations may be booked in single or multiple hour slots
 - Minimum notice of reservation: 48 hours
 - Maximum notice of reservation: current semester only
 - Automatic and recurring reservations are not allowed.
 - Please do not book the shop for activities that could take place in a general-use classroom or studio, such as lectures, critique, or light fabrication
 - The Model Shop will be non-reservable during the last three weeks of each semester (Weeks 13, 14, 15) in order to facilitate student shop access during finals.

Faculty must be present in the Model Making Shop with their class when they have the shop reserved. Classes may access the Model Shop during their classtime on an open shop basis as needed when they have reached the reservation cap and/or for in class tool use with no instructor led demonstration scheduled.
Please note that no-shows without proper communication can result in a loss of reservation privileges for that semester.
Please reach out to Studio Management should your course require additional shop time beyond the allocated amount.
