Registration: Lakes Country Arts Educator Purposeful Pause
This free, one-hour session is designed for arts educators in Lakes Country and made possible by Perpich Center for Arts Education, Regional Arts Teacher-Leader Network. The goal for the session is to create a space for mindfulness and self-care following a year of teaching in situations perhaps none of us planned for. Facilitated by theatre arts educator Jessica Chipman (Alexandria), arts educators will relax in a custom guided meditation led by trained specialist Becky Byrne, receive research-based information on best practices of self-care, and will be provided resources and access to further custom guided meditations. One clock-hour certificate will be provided following your attendance. You will receive an email with a Google Meet link one hour prior to this session. The Arts Educator Purposeful Pause will take place Thursday, March 25 from 7:30-8:30pm. Join us for relaxation and mindfulness!

Becky Byrne holds a BA in Organizational Management and Communication; she is also trained as a Massage Therapist, Biofeedback Specialist and Professional Hypnotist.  She has spent the last twenty years working in the field of bodywork and studying the mind-body connection. Becky specializes in guiding clients through self-exploration to examine their personal paradigms and beliefs that may be affecting their ability to achieve their goals.  She creates a safe space for her clients to positively change the messages they tell themselves and educates them on the powerful influence their personal beliefs have on every area of their lives.
Jessica Chipman (she, her, hers) is a secondary theatre arts teacher from Alexandria, where she has directed plays and musicals for ten years. Jessica represents the Lakes Country region as a Regional Arts Teacher-Leader through the Perpich Center for Arts Education, where her work has led her to explore how to best support Lakes Country teachers on a social and emotional level throughout the pandemic. Outside her work as an educator, arts curriculum consultant, and playwright, she enjoys traveling and time outdoors with her husband and two daughters. Jessica is committed to anti-racist practices.
