Taylor Fork Nature Exploration Series                  Spring 2023 Event Signup
All events are located at Taylor Fork Ecological Area (1 Hancock Taylor Lane, Richmond, KY 40475) unless otherwise stated. This is a fun and FREE family event series with the purpose of inspiring individuals of all ages to love nature and learn more about the great outdoors. NOTE: Taylor Fork has very limited wheelchair accessibility.

*Woodcock Walk | Sat, March 11th @ 6:30pm-8:30pm See the exciting spring mating flights of the elusive woodcock! Learn about the natural history of these cool and unusual birds!

*Fire Ecology and Succession Walk and Talk | Fri, March 31st @ 5:30pm-7pm Fire plays an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystem. Come learn more about how we manage Taylor Fork to support birds, pollinators, and other wildlife that depend on early successional habitat!

*Earth Day Nature Hike | Tues, April 18th @ 4pm-6pm - Celebrate Earth Day by getting out into nature and looking for the signs of spring on this guided interpretive hike! Wildflowers, frogs, birds!

*Bird Banding Bonanza | Sat, Apr 29th @ 9am-11am Bird banding is an important practice in investigating the life history and migration of birds. Join us as we catch, tag, and then release our feathered friends!
