The Neuroscience Foundation is an organization that aims to engage students interested in neuroscience from across the world. We bring students resources, connections, and opportunities to explore and dive deeper into the vast fields of neuroscience and psychology. Getting involved with our organization will allow students to grow intellectually and personally through our various educational and humanitarian approaches.
This neuroscience course focuses on higher brain functions and the mechanisms underlying human and animal behaviors. Topics may include the emerging role of the gut microbiome's impact on behavior, pathogens that alter neuronal development and the biological basis of mindfulness and placebos. In addition, the impact that exercise and sleep play in modulating these behaviors are examined. Common experimental techniques used in neuroscience research such as systematic literature reviews are emphasized.
