Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Chatham Shark Center! We had over 16,000 visitors during the 2018 season and we are expecting even larger crowds this summer. The center is fully staffed by volunteers and we appreciate you taking the time to complete the application below, with the interest of joining our team.

The center is undergoing a small renovation, and we are expanding in the building! Due to these changes, we will not be opening Memorial Day Weekend. We will have a delayed opening date of June 15th.

All volunteers will be asked to attend a volunteer orientation at the beginning of June or at the end of June (based on your start date). Orientations will be offered on various dates and will introduce volunteers to the new systems in use, exhibits, volunteer guidelines, and allow for time to answer any general questions about AWSC and the center. We hope these orientations provide volunteers with the background information needed to fulfill their duties this summer.

I would like to remind you that in providing your availability, you are signing up to take on a shift for the 2019 season. This year we plan to schedule volunteers on a shift for the entire summer. We understand that vacations, other commitments, or appointments may require you to miss a shift or two, and we will be able to schedule substitutes for those situations. Please understand that volunteer positions are not guaranteed to all who apply. Positions will be offered to those who meet the needs of the schedule and the positions available.
