Mountain Studies Lecture Series
On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, Appalachian State University will host the inaugural Mountain Studies Lecture Series featuring members of the most comprehensive science expedition to Mt. Everest in history.  The Mathematics and Science Education Center is delighted to partner with this event to invite teachers, administrators, and other educators to this talk to learn more about the multi-disciplinary aspects of this expedition, the science involved in exploring Mt. Everest, and the information being gained related to climate change and mountain geography.  

The lecture will begin at 7:00 pm, and participants may receive 0.2 renewal credits. Additional information about the event and speakers can be found at:

Please RSVP by completing the form below.  An informational email including Zoom links for participating will be sent before the event.  Additional information related to your receipt of renewal credits will also be shared.  A variety of science teaching resources has also been made available to you through the National Geographic Society.  These can be found at the link provided above and will be repeated in your follow up email.
