Decolonising Social Sciences

‘Decolonising education’ is often misunderstood or even misinterpreted. This is perhaps due to the media attention, combined with some misuse of the language of ‘decolonisation’, which has created a lot of debate.

At Warwick, we worked on various resources to help academic colleagues understand what "decolonising" means, and how this can apply to Social Sciences. You can find this work here

The "Decolonising Social Sciences Workbook" is written for the reader to actively engage with the work and develop their understanding of decolonisation and what it takes to feel empowered to design their own decolonising approach.

This workbook is a collaborative project coordinated by Stefania Paredes Fuentes (Associate Professor at Warwick), Chair of the “Decolonising Social Sciences” Subgroup of the Faculty of Social Sciences Education Committee, supported by Warwick students.
