MMORPGs in Language Learning
 What are MMORPGs?

MMORPG stands for Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, which are essentially video games where people from all around the play together and form groups (or guilds) to complete quests and earn experience points. Popular examples include World of Warcraft, Runescape, Guild Wars and Second Life.

The goal of this study is to assess how effective MMORPGs can be for learning a second language. This could include navigating the user interface, interactions with NPCs (non-playable characters) and communicating with other players in the target language. Part of the analysis is finding out how Language teachers feel about this particular method of learning. How beneficial is it for language learning? Could it potentially be implemented in a classroom environment?
