Hello Students, Family and Friends!

Paint Valley Local Schools is offering students the opportunity to enroll in a full range of online courses, including core courses and electives, through our Bearcat Academy online program. This program allows students to complete coursework online with certified teachers, using an accredited curriculum, while still being a Paint Valley Student and earning credits at Paint Valley High School (if you are in grades 9-12). Bearcat Academy is designed to offer students flexibility in environment, pacing, and schedule, while completing classes in an alternative setting than the traditional school building, all while still being a Paint Valley student!

Through this program, students and families will work with a mentor at the school who will assist in training, tutoring, supporting, and managing the student’s performance. Much of the student’s success depends on parents becoming actively involved in their student's learning journey. This is a self-paced program so the success of the student will be heavily reliant on the student’s self-motivation and their ability to work with the mentor and their virtual teacher.

In order to enroll, a student must complete and return an application by August 14th, 2020. In order to enroll, any interested student must commit to being in Bearcat Academy for at least one nine weeks for MS/HS and a semester for Elementary before they are able to return to Paint Valley as a full-time, in-house student. It is strongly recommended though that students who enroll in Bearcat Academy complete at least a full semester in the program, as that is what each online class is designed for.
