TEDxEmilyCarrU: Info and Expectations
TEDxEmilyCarrU is an event happening in March 2022. Our goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder- and provoke conversations that matter.
If selected, your talk would be filmed and posted on TED.com as well as the TEDx YouTube channel. Just as with all speakers, we would work together ahead of time to craft the talk. We are aiming for short talks (~7 minutes), on any topics you're interested in -- technology, entertainment, design, business, science, humanities, etc. Unorthodox, interactive or performative talks are encouraged.
Speakers are required to write an outline and/or script and slides, be contactable before the event, and have periodic check-ins with the curators. Speakers rehearse their talk for weeks or months in advance, and will attend at least one rehearsal with the curators, including a dress rehearsal. A preparation timeline with specific milestones would be negotiated to fit your schedule and needs, and be agreed upon ahead of time.
All of the guidance needed to draft and deliver a compelling talk will be provided along the way, including a brief speaker guide, supplementary videos by the Curation Team.
