Campus Rep Team Application
Join our statewide Campus Rep team!

This year we'll be meeting together every other week on Zoom for discussion, training, coaching, and prep - all to prepare you to lead (or help lead) a weekly gathering for students on your campus. We are praying for Campus Reps from all 38 Louisiana colleges and universities!

As a part of the InterVarsity Campus Rep Team, you will...
  • grow personally and spiritually as you work with the team to see the Gospel go forth on campus.
  • grow in prayer and leadership.
  • go deeper with students at your school.
  • connect with other Campus Reps across the state.
  • receiving coaching and mentorship from an InterVarsity staff.
Expectations:
  • Campus Reps commit to lead (or help lead) a weekly Gathering/Bible Study on Campus
  • Attend weekly Campus Rep Gathering (Monday Nights on Zoom, only 2 absences allowed per semester)
  • Attend InterVarsity Louisiana Fall Retreat in October and our Regional InterVarsity Camp (RECWEEK) in May (scholarships available)
  • Students at 4-year schools to commit to be a Campus Rep for at least 2 semesters and students at 2-year schools to commit for at least 1 semester.
Campus Reps are:
  • eager to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
  • willing to take risks as we learn to share our faith on campus.
  • active and engaged participants at weekly InterVarsity gatherings.

Weekly Plan for Spring 2024

Starting mid-January, we'll meet together every other Monday night for our Campus Rep Gathering on Zoom. Keep your Monday night schedule open!

During these meetings, we'll equip you with Bible study resources and outreach activities to use as you help launch and lead InterVarsity on your campus.

We're also tentatively planning a leader's overnight on a weekend in mid-late February. More details coming soon!

When are you planning to graduate? (or transfer) *
Why do you want to be a Campus Rep at your school this year? *
Share about how you came to faith in Jesus! (For some of us, faith has been a part of our lives as long as we can remember. For some, we've disovered Jesus later in life. Tell us about how your faith in Jesus has become real and personal to you!) *
It’s important that Campus Reps are actively seeking to grow in their faith. What are the ways that you nurture your relationship with God currently? (Examples: scripture reading, involvement in InterVarsity on campus, church attendance, prayer, etc.)
*
Spiritual leadership isn’t just about helping others. God uses spiritual leadership to transform us and help us grow. How do you think being a Campus Rep will help you grow in your faith?

The Life of a Christian Leader
All InterVarsity Campus Reps must be striving to meet the following expectations:

Intimacy: Grounded in your own personal relationship with Jesus.
  1. Regular time alone with God studying His word and praying
  2. Regular church attendance
  3. Weekly meeting with a community of believers (i.e. Bible study)

Character: Respected by those around you, actions are consistent with what you profess to believe.
  1. Does not drink underage, does not get drunk if of age, does not use a fake ID. (Scripture challenges us to radical submission to governing authorities, even when it is inconvenient or difficult, out of love for Christ. Especially on the college campus, we have an opportunity to show Christ's love through how we use alcohol.)
  2. Does not date someone who is not actively seeking to follow Jesus. (Romantic relationships have a significant impact on our lives and our walk with Jesus. In general, it's really hard to grow strong in your faith when you're in a dating relationship with someone who doesn't share your faith convictions. We want those in spiritual leadership to approach their dating relationships with wisdom and maturity, for your own spiritual health and for the benefit of those who are looking to you for leadership.)
  3. Striving for sexual purity Does not spend the night at boyfriend/girlfriend’s and is striving for sexual purity. (God created sex for good. Therefore, we need to approach it with wisdom and safe boundaries. We believe God’s good intention for sex is between a man and woman committed in marriage. No matter our orientation or sexual identity, we submit our sexuality and sexual behavior to Christ. While there is always grace and healing offered no matter our sexual past or mistakes that we make, as Jesus followers we are striving to fully surrender our sexuality to him.)
  4. Guards his/her tongue, not malicious, deceitful, or a gossip.

Commitment: Will attend gatherings, meetings, and training events as scheduled.
As leaders representing Christ on campus we won’t be perfect, but we do need to be in the process of becoming more like Jesus, learning to live according to his teachings.

Review the sections above regarding Intimacy, Character, and Commitment. Are there any of these areas where you're struggling, or have more questions for us?
Having a partner can make leadership even better! Is there anyone else at your school who would be a good candidate to be a Campus Rep too?
*
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13

With God’s grace, I agree to strive to the above expectations for a Campus Rep Team Member with InterVarsity.
