Ride with Seattle Pedaling Relief Project on Friday afternoons to help support families in the North Seattle who are experiencing food insecurity! Pickup times are Fridays 2pm to 3pm.
We are looking for six volunteers who are interested in fighting food insecurity in their community while also riding their bikes in North Seattle! We will be doing this by riding out from the North Helpline's Bitter Lake
or Lake City location to restock 25 Little Free Pantries that are in the surrounding neighborhoods. These community 24 hour pantries offer a zero-barrier access point to food to help fill the gaps in the food system. These pantries support neighbors who are facing food insecurity while building micro-communities. This is a very low contact volunteer opportunity as the only person who you will need to regularly work with is the coordinator at the food bank and this is a great way to just be able to get out and explore your community by bike!
Each panty restocking kits will weigh 18 to 20 pounds.
